Necon 28 (July 17-20, 2008)
Bristol, RI
As usual, I'll be attending and embarrassing myself with the lowest miniature golf score for my foursome. Still, despite my embarrassing moments, I wouldn't miss Necon. Writer Guests of Honor this year are Charlaine Harris, Michael Marshall Smith, and [the prolific] James A. Moore.

I'm on a panel on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. (Love the title...) SELLING YOUR SOUL: Book promotion in the modern world. From bookmarks to book trailers, store signings to podcasts; what really gets you noticed? Nate Kenyon (moderator), P.D. Cacek, Matt Schwartz, Darrell Schweitzer, Morven Westfield, Lynne Hansen.

Necon is sold out for this year, but if you're still curious about it, see www.campnecon.com.

3Pi-Con (Aug 22-24, 2008)
Springfield, MA
Pi-Con is a a science fiction/gaming/geek lifestyle convention.

I'll be on three panels:

Saturday, 5 pm: Broad Universe Rapid-Fire Reading. Inanna Arthen, Elaine Isaak, Morven Westfield, Trisha Wooldridge, Phoebe Wray This is something that Broad Universe does regularly. Members get to read short excerpts from their published works or works-in-progress. The only difference with this one is that I'm the organizer! (gulp) That means I need to co-ordinate the event, make the flyer, let the participants know how much time they have, and emcee the event. I've done enough of these, though, that I'm comfortable with the format, so it should be fun.

Saturday, 9 pm: Tech tools for writers. Keith RA Decandido, Genevive Iseult Eldredge, Joseph McGee, Morven Westfield (moderator) This is a new one. Since I'm the one who suggested it, I've also volunteered as moderator. I'll be talking about the software and hardware that writers can use to make their life easier and make themselves more productive.

Sunday, 1 pm: Character Creation. Genevive Iseult Eldredge, Joseph McGee, KT Pinto, Onyxhawke, Morven Westfield On this one, I'm just a panelist. I have no idea what direction the moderator -- whoever it is -- will choose, but I'll be prepared to talk about characters, how to build them, and how to keep the details straight.

For more information on this event, see www.pi-con.org. Guests of Honor include Cory Doctorow and Randall Munroe.

New York Witch Festival (Oct 25, 2008)
Smithtown, NY

Along with two other Harvest Shadows authors, I'll be attending and will be signing copies of my book.

The event is being held at the Sheraton Long Island Hotel, Smithtown, NY. For more information on the event, see www.crescentmoongoddess.com
